What is the South End Art Hop?

The South End Arts + Business Association (aka SEABA) is a small non-profit arts organization with a mission to cultivate the connections between art and business to grow and preserve the vibrant, creative community of the South End Arts District through signature events, marketing and advocacy.

SEABA hosts the South End Art Hop as a celebration of all that the South End Arts District has to offer! Taking place the weekend after Labor Day each September, the event is now in its 28th year and is a wonderful outlet for the community to come together and recognize the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of the South End of Burlington, Vermont.

The South End Arts District, begins on the South side of Main Street, down along Pine Street and surrounding streets, and ends at Home Avenue. Various artist studios, galleries, vintage shops, breweries, restaurants, and independent businesses all open their doors to the community to showcase their unique wares and art for purchase. The Art Hop hosts scheduled events throughout the weekend, though exploring is encouraged. The goal is to enlighten visitors to new artists and businesses to support and we hope that you will return again year-round!

The 2020 South End Art Hop is a digital event this year, with as many in-person portions as possible!

The South End Arts + Business Association (SEABA) is excited to represent the artist and business community for the South End Art Hop this fall, while keeping the public safe and following required covid-19 protocols.

The event will go on, though the South End Art Hop will be different from previous years. Many aspects will be going virtual such as a digital program guide, along with social distancing measures for in-person events and participating sites. By adding a digital component, we will be able to drive sales to participating artists and South End businesses. SEABA reserves the right to add or cancel in-person events and implement safety protocols based on local and national guidelines. Each registration option has details on which portions are refundable in the event of a cancellation.

Thank you for your support as we celebrate all that the South End Arts District has to offer and encourage growth to the local creative economy!
