Assistant Event Whisperer

The Assistant Event Whisperer will work with the Art Hop Coordinator to ensure smooth planning, logistics, and safety of several art hop related events.  This position is a temporary one consistent with the timing of the annual South End Art Hop in September.  The Assistant Event Whisperer will have excellent communication skills, experience in event planning, and have a high level of organization.  Responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the planning of secondary events including, but not limited to, the STRUT Fashion Show, Kids Hop, Artist Market Extravaganza, VIP party
  • Being present at the events, and assist the Art Hop Coordinator in making sure the event is being implemented smoothly.
  • Ability to ‘put out fires’ quickly if needed.

This is a paid position, amount is based on experience and qualifications.  We estimate the amount of time needed for this position is 50 hours total (25 pre-event, 25 during event).  Please submit resume and letter of interest to adam@seaba.com.  Position will remain open until filled.

 

Assistant Art Ninja

The curatorial assistant will work with the SEABA Associate Director & Curator to ensure the receipt of thousands of work of art, and assist in the curation of over 40 sites with artwork.  This position is a temporary one and takes place primarily during the month of August into early September.  The curatorial assistant must have a fairly flexible schedule during this time, and have some knowledge in regards to handling artwork.  Responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in connecting with artists regarding their artwork, drop off/late drop offs.
  • Assist in hanging artwork with the Curator, or hang an exhibit solo
  • Assist in wiring artwork if needed, or provide information to the artist on how to prepare their work for exhibit
  • May assist in the coordination of sales of artwork, acting as the go-between the buyer and the artist.
