How to Hop

To ensure that you see all of the 600-plus artists exhibiting at over 100 locations in the South End Art Hop, you may want to take a few moments to plan your route. Our online program guide will help you plot your itinerary as you walk, bike, or take our shuttles or CCTA busses throughout the neighborhood.

PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION

Friday Night Street Closure: A portion of Pine Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on Friday night from 6-10 p.m. There will be no parking or vehicle traffic from the north side of Howard Street to the south side of Kilburn Avenue during this time.

Friday Night Shuttle Service: Two Shuttles will be running Friday night including the Seven Days ‘Bunny bus’, and making stops at VCAM (208 Flynn Avenue), Lake Champlain Chocolates, The Innovation Center on Lakeside Avenue, and Dealer.com between 5pm – 10:30pm.

Parking: The South End has free parking! We try to promote other means of transportation such as biking or walking in, taking the shuttle, carpooling, etc. There will be Bike Valet Parking by Local Motion at the Maltex Building.  Three major spots for parking will be 208/180 Flynn Avenue area, Lake Champlain Chocolates & Champlain Elementary School and the Innovation Center on Lakeside Ave, Friday night catch the shuttle from those locations. CCTA will be running their Pine Street Bus Route on Saturday from 6:15 a.m.-6:40 p.m.

Friday Night Bike Valet Parking: Free, secure valet bike parking by Local Motion is available from 6-10 p.m. Friday in front of the Maltex Building at 431 Pine Street.

HUNGRY?

If you grow hungry in your quest to enjoy the many sites and artists of Art Hop, you will find a number of street vendors along Pine Street offering tasty treats. There are also many South End restaurants along the way, which will be open late to serve you.  There are 3 food courts, #1 in the old ReSource parking lot, #2 across from Curtis Lumber, and #3 at the Maltex Building, check the map for locations.

Don’t forget to stop by Ben & Jerry’s to get a scoop of their Homemade ice cream or hop on over to the Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory Store & Café for a delicious treat!

RECYCLING AND WASTE CONTAINERS

Please help keep the South End clean by using the recycling and waste containers along the Art Hop route that have been generously donated by Casella Waste Systems and taken care of by our great neighbors at Magic Hat Brewing Company.

PORT-O-POTTIES

Port-o-Potties can be found next to the Art Hop tent on the north side of the back parking lot, behind the Maltex building, several sites have bathrooms as well.

Many sites and locations around our South End neighborhood will be holding parties and social gatherings. Please be considerate of your hosts and our residential neighbors as you enjoy.  The Art Hop is a celebration of the arts, and we ask that you not bring in alcoholic beverages, there are many deserving south end beer & cider makers that deserve your support.  We will have staff, security and Burington Police on hand monitoring open container and unruly behavior.  Remember, it’s about community and the arts…stay sane & sober!
